Langdale Marathon & Half Marathon

The Langdale Marathon & Half Marathon in the Lake District on 17 October 2026 has a reputation as one of the toughest road marathons in the UK.

The marathon distance is 2 laps of the half marathon course – a beautiful, challenging course set with a backdrop of some of the finest scenery the Lake District has to offer. This isn’t a flat, boring course, it’s an undulating route designed for its views and the sense of achievement.

Runners follow an anti-clockwise course from Great Langdale to Little Langdale and on to the picturesque hamlets of Skelwith Bridge and Chapel Stile.

This event is now organised by Lakeland Roads.
