Race The Sun Lake District Off-Road

Race The Sun Lake District Off-Road on 13 June 2026 is a triathlon-style team multisport challenge with a bike, hike and paddle.

Based in and around the village of Coniston, teams of two or four race against the setting sun. All team members compete in each discipline. As a team event you’re only as fast as your slowest team member, you need to stick together for the whole race.

The 23-mile gravel and mountain bike leg starts in Coniston and heads into the stunning Tilberthwaite Valley to Stang End. The challenge then takes you on a 6-mile hike to the summit of the Old Man of Coniston, finishing with a 2-mile paddle on one of the Lake District’s beautiful lakes.

This event is a fundraiser for Action Medical Research to support life-changing research across the UK to help save and change the lives of sick and vulnerable children.
