Blackwater Trail Events
The Blackwater Trail Events on 24 May 2026 includes a point to point Marathon and Half Marathon trail run in Essex.
Starting in Chelmsford at the end of the Blackwater navigation, the course follows a series of footpaths through the Essex countryside to Heybridge Basin, where the Half Marathon finishes.
The Marathon continues along the Saltmarsh coastal trail footpath to Goldhangar before heading inland on to the trails before finishing in Tollesbury.
This is a self-navigation event via GPX file or written instructions. There will be aid stations at regular intervals.
This is a cup-free event – bring your own cup/water bottle for refilling at aid stations during the race.
