Chelmsford Marathon & Half Marathon

The Chelmsford Marathon & Half Marathon on 11 October 2026 is one of the biggest running events in Essex and is a major fundraising event for Havens Hospices.

The Marathon course is a 26.2 mile single lap on road and tarmac paths. It is a scenic rural route which heads out through the city and then undulates through the nearby countryside and pretty villages of north Essex.

The Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile ‘out & back’ course. This is a flatter route than the full marathon, participants will enjoy running along the city streets and out into stunning countryside.

Both events have a stunning finish line, down an avenue of autumn trees in Chelmsford’s Central Park.

This event is organised in partnership with Havens Hospices and Nice Work.
